De Poederdoos is the private club lounge of Travestie.VlaanderenIt is a warm, discreet and safe place where cross-dressers can meet, be themselves and enjoy their self-expression in peaceful surroundings.

De Poederdoos is not a café, pub or public space. This means you can’t just walk in unannounced. And that’s deliberate. Travestie.Vlaanderen aims to create an environment where privacy, security and trust are paramount. A place where you don’t have to worry about unexpectedly encountering people who are not part of the target audience.

As the space is somewhat limited but nevertheless cosy, we always operate on a pre-booking basis. This ensures that De Poederdoos remains well-organised, peaceful and safe for everyone present.

De Poederdoos is located in 9041 Oostakker, near Ghent.

Out of respect for our visitors’ privacy, we only disclose the exact address once registration has been completed. The address is mentioned on the admission ticket. Doing so ensures that everyone can attend our meetings in complete discretion and confidence.

Travestie.Vlaanderen is a private association where safety, discretion, and respect are paramount.

You can choose how you get to De Poederdoos yourself. Because we do not have our own car park, you park in the street or nearby and walk the last few metres to De Poederdoos.

For some people, that’s an exciting and special moment: walking down the street for the first time—or just being completely yourself—in public. That doesn’t have to be a problem. De Poederdoos is well-known in the neighborhood, so you don’t have to feel uncomfortable about it.

Would you rather not go outside in full makeup? That’s perfectly fine, too. You’re welcome to get changed and apply your makeup at your ease in De Poederdoos. We have a changing room and makeup tables with mirrors and good lighting, so you can finish your look in complete comfort before you begin your visit.

De Poederdoos is open during regular gathering times at Travestie.Vlaanderen. Anyone who has registered in advance is welcome to attend.

You can find the dates of our meetings in the agenda on our website. Registration is mandatory for each meeting, as places are limited and it's first come, first served.

Take a look agenda and make sure you register in due time, as places often fill up quickly.

At De Poederdoos, we offer a safe and private meeting place for cross-dressers, whether you're just taking your first steps or have been familiar with cross-dressing for some time.

Nothing is asked of you and you don’t have to convince anyone. Just come as you are and feel free to be yourself.

Travestie.Vlaanderen aims to provide a safe space for people who usually enjoy crossdressing behind closed doors, but also for those who like to venture outside and connect with like-minded people.

De Poederdoos is a place where friendships can grow, where experiences are shared, and where people support each other with advice and action. Sometimes serious, sometimes light-hearted, sometimes with a wink, but always with respect.

For the 2026/2027 season, the following rates per meeting apply:

  • Non-members: 30 euros per gathering, including food and limited alcoholic beverages.
  • Members 25 euros for gatherings with member discount code, including food and limited alcoholic beverages.

The price may vary depending on the activity, for instance, a speaker, end-of-season party, workshop, or special theme gathering. Any price changes will always be announced in advance in the agenda and De Travestie Gazette.

The season starts in September and runs until the “End of Season” event in July.

To ensure that De Poederdoos remains a safe, tidy and pleasant place for everyone, there are a few clear rules.

As soon as you enter De Poederdoos, you agree to the house rules Van Travestie.Vlaanderen.

We ask everyone to treat each other, the space, and the privacy of other visitors with respect. What is shared in De Poederdoos stays in De Poederdoos, as stated in the privacy policy.

Hygiene is important. There is a small washbasin available. Please bring your own towels and washcloths. Please shave at home. Please use your own make-up remover.

After each gathering, everyone helps to tidy up the space. Many hands make light work, and it also helps to keep the atmosphere friendly.

Non-members Fill in the form “De Poederdoos gatherings”. Once we have assessed and approved these, you will receive a link where you can purchase your ticket for the gatherings. 

Members Log in with your username and password. Members can go directly to the ticket shop to purchase their tickets for the gatherings in De Poederdoos.

Fancy a gathering with like-minded people at De Poederdoos?
We’d like our first-time guests to introduce themselves briefly. Please let us know how long you’ve been actively involved in cross-dressing, how far you’ve got with your alter ego, how you’re getting on with the make-up – there’s usually plenty to say about your alter ego.

Tickets for the gatherings are sold through the online ticket sales system Weeztix. The description on the bank statement is “Ticketingpayment Eindhoven”. Nothing refers to De Poederdoos, Travestie.Vlaanderen or your alter ego. All information relating to the events is listed on the ticket you have purchased, which you can download and which will be sent to the email address you provided.
After your ticket has been bought at Weeztix you will be automatically added to the guest list for the relevant gathering for which you registered.

If you are unable to attend the meeting, you can only contact Weeztix to claim a refund for your ticket. Please note, this is only applicable if you purchase cancellation insurance. (Note: Weeztix will only refund using the official name on your ticket!). Please be sure to read the terms and conditions of the cancellation insurance carefully.

Occasionally, there may be too few registrations for a gathering. In such cases, we ask you to join at a later date, with a larger group. This way, the gathering remains warm, lively, and valuable for everyone, because let's be honest: sitting alone in De Poederdoos isn't really helpful to anyone.

Your already purchased ticket will of course remain valid and can only be moved to a new date if the event is cancelled by the organisation.
Therefore, it is important that you provide a correct email address and/or mobile number when registering. This way, we can reach you in good time if anything changes.

De Poederdoos is not a professional counselling practice. There are no psychologists present and we are not trained to provide therapeutic support.

Anyone who needs professional support around gender, identity or well-being, we are happy to refer them to specialised organisations. On our link page you will find various support channels within the gender theme.

De Poederdoos is not a make-over service for cross-dressing either. We do not have any clothing, make-up, wigs, prosthetics or accessories available to lend out for a transformation.
We assume that you’ll bring your own outfit, make-up and personal accessories. However, anyone still looking for wigs or prosthetics is always welcome to come and try them on during the gatherings.

De Poederdoos is for those who want to feel a sense of belonging for a while. For those who want to close the door behind them and let their guard down. For those who want to show their true selves without having to explain, without rushing and without judgement.

By Travestie.Vlaanderen we believe that crossdressing doesn't need to be a spectacle. Sometimes it's just a soft, personal way of getting closer to yourself.

And that’s precisely what De Poederdoos is for: a safe space near Ghent where crossdressers can meet, grow, and be themselves.
