You don't need to know exactly who you are with us. You don't have to take big steps before you're ready either. Sometimes it just starts with curiosity, a first question, a quiet wish, or the desire to finally meet people who understand what drag or crossdressing means to you.

Our target audience consists primarily of transvestites and crossdressers in Flanders and surrounding areas who want to experience their feminine side, alter ego or gender expression in a warm and safe environment.
Everyone experiences travesty in their own way. Some call themselves transvestite, others crossdressers, bigender, part-time women, occasional women, or prefer to use yet another term. Travestie.Vlaanderen you don't have to put yourself in one box.
For some, transvestite is about relaxation, beauty, and fun. For others, it’s a deeper form of self-expression, recognition, or inner peace. There is no right or wrong way to experience drag.
By Travestie.Vlaanderen we make room for all those differences. It's not about labels, it's about people.
A safe first step for beginners
Are you new to transvesty or cross-dressing? Then taking the first step towards joining a group can be quite daunting. Do you still have many questions, or are you unsure of what to expect? Then you can come and meet us first, in a relaxed and no-obligation setting.
We understand that.
Travestie.Vlaanderen It is also for beginners looking for a safe first experience outside their usual environment. You can take your time to settle in, look around, chat, or simply be present. Nothing will be expected of you that you are not yet ready for.
Even those with longer experience with transvesty or crossdressing will find a place with us. Experienced members can enjoy meeting, friendship, activities, and sharing experiences with like-minded individuals.
Meet like-minded people in a warm environment
Many transvestites and cross-dressers experience their alter ego alone for a long time. Sometimes out of habit, sometimes out of caution, sometimes because it is difficult to find people who truly understand what it means.
Travestie.Vlaanderen brings people together.
Our association is for those who would like to meet other transvestites and crossdressers in a discreet, safe and cosy atmosphere. Not to be judged, but to find recognition. Not to prove anything, but simply to be yourself for a while.
A conversation, a smile, a shared experience or a first evening in De Poederdoos can sometimes mean more than you'd initially dared to hope.
Discretion, security and respect
We understand that cross-dressing can be a personal and sensitive matter for many people. Not everyone is open about it with family, friends, colleagues, or the outside world. That's why we place great importance on safety, discretion, and mutual respect.
Our gatherings are not public displays, but meetings of trust. Everyone is given the space to decide for themselves what feels right.
By Travestie.Vlaanderen we do not share personal data of members. Contact outside the association also only happens with mutual consent. Boundaries are respected. Always.
Your alter ego experiences things at your pace
For many transvestites and crossdressers, the alter ego is an important part of their experience. It can be a name, a style, a feeling, another way of moving, or simply a side of yourself that finally gets some breathing room.

Feel free to experiment with clothing, make-up, style, and appearance. This can help you develop more self-confidence and enjoy conversations, recognition, and connection. You don't need to imitate anyone or play someone else.
Because sometimes that alter ego isn't a figment of your imagination, but just an honest part of yourself.
Step by step outside
Some members, over time, feel the desire to also outside De Poederdoos steps to take. That can be exciting, especially when you've never done it before.
Travestie.Vlaanderen sometimes offers the opportunity to participate in activities outside our meeting room together. This is always done with clear agreements, respect for everyone's boundaries, and attention to safety.
Those who are ready can discover with others what it feels like to be visible in an LGBTQ+ friendly environment, for example in Ghent. But nothing is obligatory. Your pace is your own.
Who Travestie.Vlaanderen is not intended for
To keep our association safe and respectful, it is also important to be clear about what Travestie.Vlaanderen is not.
Travestie.Vlaanderen is not a dating site and not a platform for sexual encounters. Our operations revolve around meeting, recognition, expression, conviviality and connection.
If you are only looking for dating, erotic encounters or personal details of members, you have come to the wrong place.
We consciously opt for a warm association where transvestites and cross-dressers can express themselves without pressure, judgment, or hidden agendas.
